Pleased to announce that The Hunter: Taken by the Lion God, Part 3 has hit the streets! I’m really enjoying writing this series, and I appreciate the nice feedback you all have sent in. It should be fun following Callie’s adventures with a couple of new (and definitely sex-crazed) magical creatures in the mix!
Callie turned on her side and studied Lee’s profile outlined against the tent’s sidewall.
A real person. A living, breathing, warm human being.
She knew she was tipsy from their impromptu feast. And she knew that the last thing she should be thinking about was Lee, in this way, with her pulse racing and ears starting to hum with excitement. But she couldn’t help it – how could she not be attracted to the man who’d saved her, truly saved her, from the endless hordes of monsters?
It certainly helped that he looked like he’d just stepped off the cover of an outdoors magazine.
Lee shifted in his sleeping bag. He sighed.
“What’s wrong?” Callie said.
“Oh, nothing,” Lee said. “Just not looking forward to tomorrow’s ride.”
“Aren’t we going down the road to Cortina? Won’t it be quick?”
“Mmm, no. Not exactly.”
“Where are we going?”
Lee turned to face her.
“Somewhere safe. With the others. Far from the monsters.”
For an instant, Callie’s heart sunk.
She suddenly realized that a man like Lee probably had someone to whom he longed to return. It was silly to imagine anything else.
“Right,” she said. She rolled on to her back again, trying to ignore the eager pulses that sparked more and more heat in her center. “Good night, then.”
Lee’s breathing settled into a relaxed, sleepy rhythm. Callie was more awake than ever. She willed herself to block out her desire. She’d been unable to hold off such cravings ever since Mios took her from the castle. The release helped her sleep. It helped her to escape.
Lee let out a small snore.
He’ll never know, Callie thought.
Callie slid her hand under her shirt and began to trail her fingers over her belly, circling and stroking as she teased herself…
